Following on from Nananea’s appointment to Robot’s Community team as chief Twitch streamer, Robot have now announced a raft of Twitch programming to keep fans engaged a whole six days of the week! Not only that but most days have two streams per day – a huge boost in programming!

The new fully comprehensive Twitch schedule features matchmaking game-play with “Meet your Match“, “Insider Access” where streams take place LIVE from Robot HQ with Q&A and interviews with the bots. “Developer League” sees Robots vs Robots as individual teams at the studio take to the battlefield against each other. A “Community Night” sees Nananea talking to folks from around the OMDU community. Finally, to top things off “Throwback Thursday” takes fans back to the fun times of OMD1 and 2 with Nananea demonstrating some of the most difficult fortresses and combinations.

When?

If all this exciting news wets your appetite you will no doubt be wondering when all of this excellent programming will be available. At REF we have updated the Twitch streams page with the full schedule. Conversions to your own timezone included! Plus you can always see which stream is coming up next by checking the “Upcoming Streams” box on the left hand menu on REF.

Some excellent community news has been announced by SixOkay over on the OMDU forums. Robot have hired Nananea to spearhead Twitch streams going forward and I am sure you will agree that this is fantastic news. Quoting SixOkay from the announcement post:

I’m excited to announce that we’ve hired Nananea to spearhead our efforts over on Twitch. Starting next week, we’re going to have a ton more streams, including new shows and new opportunities to interact with the game and the developers at Robot Entertainment. We’ll be announcing the new schedule very soon, and we’ll be back on the air before you know it.

Nananea has been dedicated to OMDU with her community stream every Thursday and has also created those awesome hero and how to play videos that you can see on the OMDU dashboard.

I’m sure all fans will be congratulating Nananea on this excellent appointment. Be sure to check out the thread over on the forums and expect more Twitch streaming coming soon!

This evening saw Robot Entertainment challenge their EU publishing partner GameForge in a best of three OMDU showdown match! The fighting was fierce. In the first match Robot and Gameforge took very different strategies with Robot opening two war camps at level one with GameForge choosing to focus on the initial upgrade of their first war camp to level 2. With some very aggressive pushing from Robot they were able to win the match quickly with a 20-0 rift points score with thanks to Ogres.

On the second match GameForge faired a little better with a more equal early and mid game, but continued aggressive pushing from Robot saw that match too end with 20-0 rift points.

Things are hotting up this week on the Orcs Must Die! Twitch channel. This week there is a new Thursday stream titled “Fortress Cup 2014”. Following North America’s recent loss to Germany in the World Cup, Robot Entertainment are attempting to redeem themselves by battling with Germany once again, challenging Gameforge to an OMDU face off!

Its all happening this week on the Orcs Must Die! Twitch channel on Thursday 3rd July at 2pm CDT. For conversion to your timezone check out our stream page.

Just a quick update on OMDU Twitch Streams. Tonight was the second Orcs After Dark feature was held this time for the EU community. It was a ton of fun and saw both SixOkay and FaTeReLLa hosting the stream whilst the EU community fought against Robot staff in a number of matches. Its great to see developers taking the time to play with the community. Robot pretty much won hands down versus the community, EU will need to try harder to beat them next time!

A TON of alpha access codes were given away on the chat. Congratulations to everyone who scored access codes. It’ll be great to see you in-game. If you didnt manage to get a key this time always keep an eye out on upcoming streams as keys are often given-away. Don’t forget – for anyone who took part and played a match tonight during the Orcs After Dark event you will be getting an alpha access code sent to you via email shortly to be shared with a friend!

Thursday Stream

Nananea’s Thursday stream is currently scheduled to go ahead, subject to the servers being available. If you tuned into the Tuesday stream it was indicated that the Thursday stream would not be going ahead. Never fear, Nananea is back in action and all going well the stream should be going ahead this Thursday as normal.

Today is the last day for EU peeps to be in with a chance of winning one of 10 alpha access codes. Just head over to our competition page to enter. Winners will be announced tomorrow so stay tuned and good luck everyone!

Special event this week!

In other news this week marks a special event.  This weeks Robot Entertainment stream will be taking place Tuesday night at the later time of 8PM to 10PM CST (convert to your timezone). This week however will not be featuring a certain OMDU hero, instead it will be a two hour long stream called “Orcs After Dark” and it is jammed packed with stuff. First and foremost there will be a ton of Robot developers online ready to play matches with alpha players with some of these games being shown on the twitch stream. In addition to this there will also be interviews with some of the developers talking about the studio and Orcs Must Die! development.

Get access

The best way to enjoy Orcs After Dark this Tuesday is to get access to the alpha. Luckily we have some great news on that front too. As of right now anyone purchasing the War Mage level founder pack at www.orcsmustdie.com gets instant alpha access! Thats right, get in the game right now and be ready for Tuesdays event.

This instant access lasts from now right up until the stream for North American players.

Playing means prizes!

Five random players will be chosen from the list of everyone that plays at least one match on Tuesday between 8 and 10pm. There will also be alpha access codes given away on the stream as well.

Everyone that plays and completes a match during the “Orcs After Dark” event will get an email next week with an extra Alpha Access Friend Code. You’ll be able to share it with one of your friends and they can start playing the game with you immediately.
