Just a few days after Radiokenny shared the x14 position with the community, It was finally accomplished. HungryHungyHippo and Radiokenny used a slightly modded version of Radkenny’s “T” Trapset to get it. HHH adjusted the ballista positions and swapped a push trap for a Floorburner and Bingo. Here are two videos showing the accomplishment.

I noticed a great tweet earlier today from @chrisrickwood. It was a posting of the Orcs Must Die! winning music in an early form. Here is the link to the music.

Want to try to pull of an x14 combo. Here is where you can do it.

Recently the War Mage difficulty high scores have been falling like rocks because of a new tactic used by OMD player and Robot forum member hungryhungryhipp. REfans.com talked to HHH and asked him for some info on the tactic. He supplied us with the following explanation and video to show it.
The crux of the way to get higher scores is to utilise weapon switching between the XBow and the BladeStaff. By doing this successfully you can get an extra combo on each orc which is a MASSIVE difference in the score. You lose out a little by performing a combat kill instead of letting the traps finish the job but the difference is still worth it.
Here’s what I try to do:
1. When the orcs approach the killbox, use the bladestaff. Stand at the back or offset on your trap by the tar, so that the orcs get effected by as many traps as possible.
2. When the orc steps onto the tar/grinder quickly switch to the Xbow and finish the job.
3. Switch back onto the bladestaff again for more combo building.
it’s a dead simple process but i’ve not seen anyone else doing this as a full on strat.
When the orcs are thicker, you need to spend more time on the Xbow to stop the grinder getting jammed up. you basically need to utilise every moment that you would be uselessly swinging the blade staff to the Xbow instead, back and forth to get the most combo points.
Before you get all your traps etc setup you will find that the Xbox is generally better. Once all the traps are in place you will spend more time on the Bladestaff as the orcs don’t jam up the grinder as much.
Using this with the right killbox traps can allow you to score 9x combos on the orcs occasionally, and pretty consistent 7x and 8x combos. Even with the barricades you can still pull off 11x Combos on the ogres with this as well.

Ok, Get ready for your mind to be blown OMD players. Robot Fans has confirmed with video evidence that the setup for the x14 combo in Orcs Must Die! is possible. What does this mean? It means that Rogotin and RadioKenny have found a position in the game where 14 traps and other combos can be applied to an Ogre at the same time. The two players asked to keep the video private until further testing can be completed. The duo recently provided video of the worlds first x13 combo, It was also thought to be impossible before it was proven on the Twin Halls map.
Will they be able to complete the x14 and will the game actually display it? I guess time will tell.

Players wanting to know how the x13 was solved in Orcs Must Die will enjoy a new three part series about the accomplishment. The 45 minute guide takes you through the thought process and strategies that were used to solve the puzzle. Radiokenny also supplied the onslaught files that were used to make the video.
Part one of the Anatomy of the x13
Part two of the Anatomy of the x13

Just days after a live interview with Robot community manager SixOkay sparked discussion about the possibility of an x13 combo in Orcs Must Die, it has been achieved. Robot forum member Rogotin theorized that OMD could produce an x13 if someone could find a place in the game to use a rolling log or boom barrel to add to an existing x12. Everyone thought that the theory was a long shot if not impossible, even with modded onslaught files and definitely not possible in normal gameplay. The world was proved wrong. Rogotin teamed with Radiokenny to produce an x13. It was accomplished by Radiokenny on the Twin Halls.
The x12 in normal play was once thought to be the holy grail of OMD. Now with the x13 a reality. Are there anymore rainbows to chase? Only time will tell.
